Cornell Military Excellence Competition
The Cornell Drill Competition which is held in Ithaca, New York, is a great event for everyone who attends. There is something for everyone to do. The Drill Team has performed admirably every year we have attended, and the same is said for Color Guard as well. For both events it is a fun opportunity to test our performance against other schools from all over the Atlantic coast. The Military Excellence Competition (MEC) consists of track events, the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test (PFT), an 8K run, and other events like this.
Last year Carnegie Mellon NROTC took 1st overall in the MEC competition by taking first in the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test, first in the Distance Medley Relay, first in the 8K run, and second in the 4x400 relay. We are looking to do the same this year, and improve in both Color Guard and Drill as well.
