The Pittsburgh NMR Center for Biomedical research serves as a Biomedical Research Resource Facility, and is committed to the following missions:

  -   Technological Research and Development
  -   Collaborative Research
  -   Service
  -   Training
  -   Dissemination

The Technological Research and Development program is carried out by the core faculty and staff of the NMR Center, and currently has three major areas of research: Functional Imaging Methodology, Spectroscopy Methodology, and Instrumentation and Imaging Methodology.

In addition to these research and development activities, the Center carries out Collaborative Research Projects, with clinical investigators from the School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, and other institutions. Click here for a list of current and past collaborators.

The NMR Center is dedicated to providing training to students, postdoctoral research associates, and clinical investigators in the applications of NMR to biomedical sciences. Training takes the form of hands-on training on NMR instruments, regular seminars and tours, and courses on "NMR in Biomedical Sciences" (Eric's new course) taught by the core faculty associated with the NMR Center.
