The Pittsburgh NMR Center for Biomedical Research

The Pittsburgh NMR Center is funded by a grant from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) as a Biomedical Technology Research Center (P41 EB001977). Our mission is to advance state-of-the-art in vivo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS) techniques to better understand tissue and organ function and to make these tools available to the greater biomedical research community.

Dr. Chien Ho awarded a Gold Medal from the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine for his pioneering work in cellular MRI.  More information can be found on the NIBIB Press Release and CMU press release.


NMR Center investigator, Dr. Ramesh Grandhi, received the best presentation award at the eighth annual University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery Stuart Rowe Society Lectureship for his presentation entitled "The Influence of Sutureectomy on Age-Related Peridural Hyperemia in Craniosynostotic Rabbits".
