The Symposium will be held in the Mellon Institute Building at Carnegie Mellon University (4400 Fifth Avenue Pittsburgh PA 15213) in the second floor Auditorium. Please enter the building at the Bellefield Street Entrance. Parking will be available at the South Dithridge Street Parking Garage. Metered parking is also available on Bellefield Ave, Fifth Ave, and Dithridge Street. A local map can be found here.
DIRECTIONS:
From the Airport
1. Follow 279/376 North toward Pittsburgh through the Fort Pitt Tunnel and onto the Fort Pitt Bridge.
2. Once on the bridge, stay in the far right lanes and follow signs for 376 East/Monroeville.
3. Take 376 East to Exit 5, Forbes Avenue/Oakland.
4. Stay in the right-hand lanes, following Forbes Avenue for about 1 mile through the Oakland business district.
5. Both lanes will turn left on Bellefield Avenue. Follow Bellefield to Fifth Avenue and turn right. The Mellon Institute Building is located at the corner of Fifth and Bellfield, at 4400 Fifth Avenue. Turn right on to South Dithridge Street for the Parking Garage.
From the North/West
1. Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Exit 3, Perry Highway.
2. Follow Interstate 79 South to 279 South (Exit 21).
3. Stay on 279 South toward Pittsburgh.
4. As you near the city, follow signs for 579 South and the Veterans Bridge.
5. After crossing the bridge, watch carefully on your right for the 376 East/Oakland exit ramp. Bear right onto this ramp, which will place you on the Boulevard of the Allies.
6. Continue on the Boulevard of the Allies for approximately 1/2 mile. Do not bear right at the 376 East/Monroeville ramp. Instead, stay on the Boulevard and exit at the Forbes Avenue off ramp.
7. Stay in the right-hand lanes, following Forbes Avenue for about 1 mile through the Oakland business district.
8. Both lanes will turn left on Bellefield Avenue. Follow Bellefield to Fifth Avenue and turn right. The Mellon Institute Building is located at the corner of Fifth and Bellfield, at 4400 Fifth Avenue. Turn right on to South Dithridge Street for the Parking Garage.
From the East
1. Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike West to Exit 6, Pittsburgh/Monroeville.
2. Follow 376 West to Exit 9, Edgewood/Swissvale.
3. Turn right onto Braddock Avenue (at the end of the ramp).
4. Continue to the Forbes Avenue intersection (Frick Park will be on the left).
5. Turn left onto Forbes Avenue and follow it approximately three miles to campus.
6. Continue on Forbes Avenue to Dithridge Street and turn right. The Mellon Institute Building will be two blocks up on the left, and the Dithridge Street Parking Garage will be located on the right.
From the South
