Event: Carnegie Mellon University's student chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers will dedicate a Persian broadleaf tree to commemorate Arbor Day and to celebrate the wedding of British royals Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Josh Blosser, newly elected vice-chair of the ASME student chapter, will help christen the tree, "The Windsor Tree." Students will decorate the tree with small handmade crowns. The event also is designed to help raise funds for a program dubbed: "Trees for Trunks," where monies are collected nationally to help purchase fruit trees for The Elephant Sanctuary near Knoxville, Tenn.

The event is open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

When: Noon to 12:30 p.m., Friday, April 29.

Where: Scaife Hall, Carnegie Mellon University, off Frew Street, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15213.
