Volker Hartkopf has realized as an architect building projects in Germany, Bangladesh, Peru and the United States.
He is chair of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Sustainable Building Construction Initiative (SBCI) — which works with governments and companies worldwide to adopt sustainable building practices.
Hartkopf's research addresses:
- building systems integration — on international scale
- advanced technology, building performance, energy conservation, urban revitalization, third-world housing and disaster prevention.
