Erica Hudson ViolinistSophomore violinist Erica Hudson has been selected from a national applicant pool to attend the 42nd Annual New York String Orchestra Seminar, conducted by artistic director Jaime Laredo. Hudson is a student of Cyrus Forough, professor of violin.

The program, which is hosted by the New School Concerts Department, will bring 45 string players as well as 18 wind and brass players to New York City from Dec. 19-28, 2010 on full scholarships, valued at $3,500 each. The musicians, ages 15-22, are introduced to a musical philosophy emphasizing self-expression beyond technical mastery and will have rehearsals and workshops with Laredo and some of the country's most celebrated artists.
