Making a Splash

The men's water polo team is making a splash in its inaugural season, earning a spot to compete at the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Division III Collegiate Club Championship this weekend at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. The team will take on New York University in the first round.

Co-captains Keith Appleby (CFA'12) and David Bradshaw (CFA'12) led the 13-member club in three Mid-Atlantic Division tournaments this season. Prior to 2010, the men's and women's water polo clubs competed as a co-ed group.

Matt Katase (MCS'12) said fans who would like to follow the team throughout the weekend can watch games live at http://www.collegiatewaterpolo.org.

The university is home to 13 club sports (http://www.cmu.edu/athletics/recreation/club/) teams, which also include baseball, lacrosse, rowing, rugby, soccer, softball, ultimate Frisbee and volleyball.
