Tartans Mad About March
Carnegie Mellon men’s basketball team came down with a case of “March Madness” this morning, when it officially received an invitation to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. The Tartans, 19-6 on the year, will play Brockport State University (14-14), winners of the State University of New York Athletic Conference, in the opening round, Friday, March 6 at John Carroll University in Cleveland.
The Tartans, making their third trip to the NCAA tournament, are led by senior Ryan Einwag’s 17.7 points per game. The 6’5” forward is shooting 54.4 percent from the floor and 41.4 percent from three-point range. Junior guard Jack Anderson is the Tartans’ second leading scorer with 14.5 points per game. Anderson’s backcourt mate, senior Corey O’Rourke, has averaged 5.1 assists per contest. Senior 6’7” forward Terrance Bouldin-Johnson has registered a team-leading 5.6 rebounds per game.
