Carnegie Mellon's Silicon Valley campus will hold a diploma ceremony for its sixth graduating class at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, when 45 working professionals will receive their master's degrees in software engineering and management. This year's keynote speaker is Guy Kawasaki, managing director of the early-stage venture capital firm Garage Technology Ventures and a columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine.

Previously an Apple Fellow at Apple Computer, Inc., Kawasaki is the author of eight books, including "The Art of the Start," "Rules for Revolutionaries," "How to Drive Your Competition Crazy," "Selling the Dream" and "The Macintosh Way." He earned his bachelor's degree from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA.
