Scotty's Big Day

10-21-2008

Scotty's Big Day

ScottyandLarryThis Saturday’s homecoming football game at 2 p.m. in Gesling Stadium will mark the official debut of Scotty, Carnegie Mellon’s first live mascot. The Scottish terrier, a gift from comedian Bill Cosby, arrived on campus this past summer and has been in training since with Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Larry Cartwright, who has two Scottish terriers of his own.

And what a game for a debut! Not only is it homecoming, but the game against Wittenberg University will air on national television at 2 p.m. the next day (Sunday, Oct. 26) on ESPNU.

No word yet whether Scotty will be interviewed at halftime.
