Bowling and pizza

The Tartans are going bowling this Saturday when they host the Bullets of Gettysburg College in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southwest Bowl Game. Kickoff is at high noon. The game marks the second straight post-season appearance for the Tartans after they finished their regular season with a 6-4 mark for their 33rd straight non-losing campaign. Last fall Carnegie Mellon advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs before losing their first game of the season to finish with a school-record 11-1 slate.

If you're going to the game, you may want to by-pass the bleachers and watch from the Tartans Pavilion, a new eatery on campus that overlooks the Gesling Stadium playing field. The 4,100-square-foot venue has a brick grill and oven for pizza and hoagies and is enclosed by glass with seven garage doors facing the athletic field. The doors will be raised in nice weather creating an outdoor sidewalk café.

So, let's go bowling this Saturday. And enjoy the pizza.
