Media Advisory: An Action Plan for Renewing Globalization and Economic Growth To Be Detailed
At Tomorrow's Pre-G-20 Conference Hosted by the Atlantic Council and Carnegie Mellon
What: Top minds from academia, business and the policy community will examine the steps needed to revitalize economic growth and restore confidence in globalization at a daylong conference. The conference, hosted by the Atlantic Council and Carnegie Mellon with support from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will feature Daniel M. Rooney, U.S. Ambassador to Ireland; Frederick Kempe, president and CEO of the Atlantic Council; Jared L. Cohon, president of Carnegie Mellon; and Mark Sniderman from the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
The conference program focuses on a four-part agenda to address the challenges posed by globalization: (1) sources of growth and the role of innovation; (2) the role of financial regulation and trade in restoring growth; (3) educating a workforce for the 21st century economy; and (4) social and political challenges of renewing globalization. A report also has been prepared and distributed to government delegations.
