Media Advisory: El Circulo Juvenil de Cultura Participants
To Perform Original Play at Carnegie Library's Main Branch

Event: Children from the El Circulo Juvenil de Cultura outreach program, coordinated by Carnegie Mellon University Department of Modern Languages faculty members Mariana Achugar, Kenya Dworkin and Felipe Gomez, will perform their original play, "La gran aventura del viaje por America" (The grand and adventurous journey through America) as part of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Passport to the World program. The play tells the story of circus animals who embark on a journey throughout North and South America to visit their relatives and the friends they make along the way. El Circulo Juvenil de Cultura provides local children from Spanish-speaking households the opportunity to converse with their peers in their native language and learn more about their culture. In the program, which consists of two-hour sessions every Saturday for 10 weeks, the children also develop creative projects, such as artwork and videos that reflect what they've learned.

When: 2 p.m., Saturday, May 3

Where: First floor, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Main, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Oakland. Parking is available in the Carnegie Museum of Art lot at the corner of North Craig Street and Forbes Avenue.
