Media Advisory: Carnegie Mellon's College of Engineering To Host Panel
On How Engineers Are Joining Ranks of Newly-Minted Entrepreneurs
EVENT: Carnegie Mellon University's Jonathan Cagan will moderate a panel discussion on how engineers have "the right stuff" to be entrepreneurs. Cagan, a professor of mechanical engineering and author of several books about successful product design, will lead a panel of professional engineers in a discussion about how the love of risk and a tolerance for hard work are some of the key ingredients to entrepreneurial success. Other panel participants include Dan Tis, a chemical engineer with ownership interests in Pittsburgh-based S/D Engineers, Loftus Engineers, Core Technologies and SE Technologies; Alicia Avick, a mechanical engineer and president of Advantus Engineers; and Charles Toran, a mechanical engineer and president of Sci-Tek Environmental Services.
