Beuth's Team to Play Key Role in America Makes
Professor Jack Beuth Leads a Team of Researchers in Expanding the Use of Powder-Based Additive Manufacturing
America Makes is the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, the nation's leading and collaborative partner in additive manufacturing and 3D printing, and has provided a $1.9 million grant to Professor Jack Beuth and his research team (which includes Professor Fred Higgs) to improve powder-bed additive manufacturing processes.
Over the next 18-months, Professor Beuth and his team of researchers will use a newly-purchased Arcam Electron Beam Melting 3D printer to aid in their goal of developing a wider range of metal powders, ultimately enabling these and other types of machines to be used for high volume manufacturing processes.
