Zhang receives Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers

Dr. Yongjie (Jessica) Zhang is recognized with the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers for her pioneering research in high-fidelity geometry modeling and mesh generation with finite element applications.  Her work in analysis-suitable trivariate solid T-Splines modeling from boundary representations is contributing to the integration of design and analysis, the route idea of isogeometric analysis and leading to great advances in DoD and Navy research such as ship design and analysis.  In addition, she aspires to train students, from high school to the graduate level, to be the future intellectual leaders for newly emerging interdisciplinary areas.   Dr. Zhang's dedication to innovative research developing novel technologies, and to mentoring young engineers and scientists will continue to lead her field and breakthroughs and discoveries.
