LeDuc's Research Makes the Cover of Nature Nanotechnology
Professor Phil LeDuc and a team of researchers at the Lane Center for Computational Biology have created an artificial celluar system that mimics the crowded environment in the inside of a cell. The crowding increases molecular bonding, which helps gene expression. This understanding may guide synthetic biologists as they develop artificial cells that might someday be used for drug delivery, biofuel production and biosensors. Their results have been published as the cover feature in the journal Nature Nanotechnology.
