Cagan Partners with Fox Chapel Schools to Promote STEM Education
Professor Jon Cagan and teachers at Fox Chapel brought more than 30 juniors and seniors from the Pitsburgh-area high school to campus on July 30 for an introduction to STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers through the Western PA STEMM Academy.
Students toured nanorobotics labs where flying robots mirror nature from bats to humming birds. They interacted with walking robots designed for use in rehabilitation technology and visited a neuro-imaging lab where researchers are exploring the architecture of human thought and understanding the brain functioning in autism.
