Rubin Distinguished Presenter at UC Santa Barbara

Professor Edward Rubin presented a lecture on "The Government Role in Fostering Technology for Climate Change Mitigation" at the University of California, Santa Barbara on Wednesday, February 22.  The lecture was part of the 2011-2012 Zurich Financial Services Distinguished Visitors Program on Climate Change.

Professor Rubin is the second of three Distinguished Visitors to go to the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management in the 2011-2012 cycle.  The Zurich Financial Services Distinguished Visitors Program on Climate Change allows the school to attract international leaders in environmental policy, law, business, and science.  The visitors may teach short courses, offer public lectures, conduct seminars, or lead colloquia and symposia.

Professor Rubin's talk focused on how government actions and policies can influence and stimulate technology innovations to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.  For more information about Professor Rubin's extensive work in climate change, please visit his profile.
