NIH Awards Sitti National Robotics Initiative Grant

The National Institutes of Health have awarded Professor Metin Sitti a grant for his research on pill-sized soft capsule robots for applications in diagnosing and treating problems in the digestive tract.  The grants are part of the National Robotics Initiative, which aims to develop next generation co-robots that work in cooperation with people.

Robotics Institute Assistant Professor Hartmut Geyer, who holds a courtesy appointment in Mechanical Engineering, was also awarded a grant.  To read in detail about all six grantees, read the CIT News Release, the NIH news release, GizMag and the Drug Discovery & Development Online article.
