A Green Team is a voluntary group of faculty, students, and staff, usually within one department, that team together to work on becoming more sustainable. To do this each team does an environmental sustainability assessment to identify areas that need improvement. This check list includes an assessment of office energy, lights, indoor air quality, waste management (reduce, reuse, recycle), green purchasing, transportation, commuting & travel and general workplace practices. The Mechanical Engineering department is committed to becoming a Green Leader for the benefit of our faculty, staff, students, and community. For this reason, the department has formed a Green Team and encourages green practices.
