REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF NEW CORE COURSE IN BIOCHEMISTRY AND CELL BIOLOGY (handout)
The Biology Department proposed a new course, 03-743.
COLLEGE COUNCIL ACTION: The council voted unanimously in favor of creating the new course.
- REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF TEACHING FACULTY PROMOTION CRITERIA (handout)
Gregg Franklin proposed Changes to the Teaching Faculty Promotion Criteria.
COLLEGE COUNCIL ACTION: The council voted unanimously in favor of the Teaching Faculty Promotion Criteria.
- REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF CHANGES TO 33-775, INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH (handout)
The Physics Department proposed that credit for 33-775 be reduced from 6 units to 1unit in conformity with the present content and associated time commitment that is required.
The reason for the proposal was that the course is 6 units and its workload is too heavy for graduate students.
COLLEGE COUNCIL ACTION: The council voted unanimously in favor of reducing the units of 33-775 from 6 units to 1 unit.
- REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF CHANGES TO THE UNDERGRADUATE COLLOQUIUM (handout)
The Physics proposed the following: Sophomores will take a two-semester course 33-201 and 33-202 (2 units each). Juniors and Senior will take two additional semesters,
33-301 and 33-302 (1 unit each). While there is a reduction by two semesters in the Colloquium requirement, there is no change in the total number of units needed for
BA and BS degrees.
COLLEGE COUNCIL ACTION: The council voted unanimously to except the changes mentioned above to the Undergraduate Colloquium.
