Inauguration of the Southern African Large Telescope

Prof. Richard Griffiths attended the recent inauguration of the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT), held on November 10. Griffiths, a professor of physics and researcher in astronomy, was part of an international team of SALT partners who met with South Africa's President, Thabo Mbeki. SALT, considered "Africa's Giant Eye," will provide unprecedented opportunity to conduct groundbreaking astrophysics research.
