Physicist Robert Kraemer honored on his retirement

photo of Robert KraemerTo honor physics professor Robert Kraemer on his retirement, the Department of Physics is holding a “roast” at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, December 7, in Rangos 2, University Center. Kraemer, a member of the Department for 40 years, has conducted groundbreaking research in high energy physics at laboratories around the world, including Brookhaven National Laboratory (New York), Fermilab (Illinois), Rutherford Lab (England), DESY Lab (Germany), and CERN (Switzerland). During his tenure at Carnegie Mellon, Kraemer was head of the Physics Department, an adjunct professor of architecture, and received the university-wide Ryan Award for Meritorious Teaching and the Julius Ashkin Award from the Mellon College of Science.
