Carnegie Mellon Leadership Academy
Selection of Participants
The Leadership Academy will select up to 20 participants per program cycle. Applicants must submit the following:
- Leadership Academy application, including a 250-word letter of interest detailing your career interests and goals
- Two letters of recommendation: one from your direct manager and a second from a department head or higher level individual
Finalists may also be asked to participate in an interview with the selection committee.
Selection Committee:
Applications will be distributed to a selection committee for review. All applicants will be evaluated based on leadership potential, professional skills, and commitment to the university. The selection committee will consist of six individuals from across the university:
- Cheryl Hays, Director of the President’s Office and Secretary of the Board of Trustees
- David Kaufer, Professor and Head, English Department
- Pradeep Khosla, Dean of CIT, Philip Marsha Down Professor
- Deborah Moon, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
- Michael Murphy, Vice President for Enrollment
- Ronald Placone, Assistant Vice President for Learning and Development
