System modeling: Solar Thermal System

Objectives

The purpose of this study is to calculate and optimize the performance of solar thermal system providing annually cooling and heating for the IW_s.

Achievements

Two systems have been studied in TRNSYS:

• Project 1: Solar cooling system with evacuated tube collectors and steam driven absorption chiller
• Project 2: Solar cooling and heating system with parabolic solar troughs and hot water and gas fired absorption chiller
