Preventing ID Theft with Identity Finder for Windows

Speaker: Wiam Younes, Training and Awareness Coordinator

Abstract:

Identity Theft is a rapidly mounting concern, which means that protecting your identity and the identity and privacy of others is vitally important.  In this 90 - minute class, you'll get hands-on instruction on how to use the Identity Finder software to find and secure information on your computer that could make you, or others vulnerable.  You will be surprised at how much personally identifiable information (PII) can be stored on your computer without your knowledge.

Sessions:
The same class is offered three times this fall to accommodate the number of staff seeking training. The class is open to faculty and staff only

Required. Faculty and staff can register for any session at the Learning and Development Seminar Registration Site and choose CE 476.

Security 101

Speaker: Wiam Younes, Training and Awareness Coordinator

Abstract:

This presentation covers the university's data protection guidelines, data breach procedures and recommended security practices. After attending the Security 101 presentation you will be able to understand your role in protecting the university's data, and to respond appropriately when you suspect a data breach.  You will also be able to apply the necessary actions for securing the data you handle on a daily basis both at work and in your personal life.

Audience:

This presentation is open to all university affiliates.
