The Master of Design in Interaction Design is a two-year professional program for students who want to explore the new arena of human-computer interaction design and its many practical applications.
While there will continue to exist a need for personal computer interfaces, we recognize the emergence of smaller and mobile computing devices, and their contexts for interaction. Ubiquitous computing, "out of the box" solutions and web-based commerce are recent topics of exploration. They join our traditional areas of focus: effective human-computer communication, visualization of, and navigation through information spaces, time-based information design, and collaborative design among various disciplines and across distances.
The program provides a balanced integration of theory, practice, and production, with access to advanced technologies throughout the period of study. There is also a balance of collaborative work and individual exploration, with sponsored projects from clients, such as NCR, Apple Computer, Interval Research, Philips, and Trilogy. The goal of the program is to prepare students for advanced levels of professional employment in the growing field of interaction design.
