Campus Community,
The Carnegie Mellon Factbook is a compilation of commonly requested data and statistical information about Carnegie Mellon. It includes information about students, alumni, faculty and staff. You can use The Factbook to find information on admissions, enrollment, teaching, research, and University finances and facilities. The Factbook also provides some useful comparative data from other universities. The data presented in the tables and graphs are from internal sources except where noted. The terms used are defined in the Appendix.
The Carnegie Mellon Factbook is intended primarily as an internal document, produced annually for use by members of the campus community. We encourage you to keep this book handy and use it as a reference. This publication will be placed on the World Wide Web at http://www.cmu.edu/ba/planning/index.htm.
We in University Planning Services want this book to be a reliable source of accurate and useful information.
