Administration Plan

  • Carnegie Mellon participated in the HERI Faculty survey in the fall of 2007 and will participate next in the fall of 2013.

Brief Description

  • The HERI Faculty Survey is designed to provide colleges and universities with timely information about the attitudes, experiences, concerns, job satisfaction, workload, teaching practices, and professional activities of collegiate faculty and administrators. Information resulting from the survey can be used to facilitate self study and accreditation activities; inform campus planning and policy analysis; enhance faculty development programs; and improve students' educational experiences.

Survey Results

  • HERI provides us with aggregate results that compare Carnegie Mellon responses to those at other participating institutions.

Distribution Plan

  • The HERI reports and the IR&A analyses are available to the Carnegie Mellon community through an authenticated link at Research on Faculty and Staff.
