The ASQ is administered online and on paper each Spring and Summer.
Brief Description
Each Spring, the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Carnegie Mellon invites all admitted students - both those planning to enroll at Carnegie Mellon and those planning to enroll elsewhere - to complete the ASQ.
Admitted students identify the factors which most influenced their decision to apply to Carnegie Mellon offer their impressions of Carnegie Mellon as a result of admissions activities, and make comparisons between other institutions to which they applied and Carnegie Mellon.
Survey Results
Group difference analyses are conducted to determine how admission and enrollment behaviors differ by CMU college, gender, citizenship status, and ethnicity and race.
Distribution Plan
The ASQ analysis is presented to the Admissions Staff each December at their annual planning retreat. The survey instrument and the analysis report are available to the Carnegie Mellon community through an authenticated link at Research on Entering Students.
