| Brief Description |
- Each spring, the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Carnegie Mellon invites all admitted students to complete the ASQ. Both those planning to enroll at Carnegie Mellon, as well as those planning to enroll elsewhere, are asked to complete the survey.

The ASQ gathers a variety of information about the college admissions process. Students identify those factors which most influenced their decision to apply to Carnegie Mellon. Additionally, respondents register their impressions of Carnegie Mellon as a result of admissions activities. Lastly, students identify other schools to which they applied and are asked to compare one of these competing schools with Carnegie Mellon. |

Relationship to Other Instruments |

| Survey Results |
- Each year a full report is generated which summarizes the results for the entire population of admitted students. Additionally, results are presented for each of the six undergraduate colleges, as well as the five schools of CFA. Lastly, results are summarized by gender, international status, and minority status.

| Distribution Plan |
- The results of the ASQ are published in December of each year. Both the survey instrument and the report are available to the entire Carnegie Mellon Community through an authenticated link on the IR&A website.

An IR&A analyst presents the results of this survey to admissions at their annual MAP meeting in January of each year. Results from the ASQ are used in the planning activities of the admissions office. |
