How to apply to the International Relations program

For new students, begin by submitting an application to Carnegie Mellon and choose H&SS on your form. Carnegie Mellon uses the Common Application exclusively and all undergraduate applications are handled through Carnegie Mellon's Admissions Office. To begin the application process, start here. Other resources include the Carnegie Mellon Undergraduate Catalog, which provides detailed instructions on how to apply to the university and how to select H&SS as your college.

If you're already at Carnegie Mellon and want to choose International Relations, contact either the IR advisor or the H&SS Academic Advisory Center.

The university encourages applicants to visit our campus and to talk with alumni. The H&SS Academic Advisory Center can also help you with the application process, and facilitates campus visits, meeting with advisors, meeting with faculty, and special admissions events. Contact the H&SS Academic Advisory Center at (412) 268-2924.
