CERIS: Carnegie Mellon is a member of The Consortium for Educational Resources on Islamic Studies (CERIS), a collaboration of academic, non-profit, and religious organizations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Through shared academic resources, CERIS seeks to encourage greater understanding about Islamic Studies, which encompasses languages, literatures, and disciplines, and extends from the seventh century to the present and across broad geographical areas of the world. CERIS maintains an online, searchable database of educational resources, such as events, courses, and expertise, related to Islamic Studies.

Council on Foreign Relations: Carnegie Mellon participates in the Council on Foreign Relations Academic Conference Call Series, together with about 15 or so other universities. This series provides students the opportunity to interact with a Council fellow in a forty-five minute phone conversation. Check the CFR website for upcoming teleconferences.
