Tom Kubilius is the founder and President of Bright Innovation. Bright is a consultancy that helps companies build their innovation engines by understanding what their customers want and delivering the best products and services to satisfy them.

Prior to founding Bright, Tom designed products at Alcoa for the automotive, construction and sporting goods industries. Before that Tom worked with the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative (PTEI) to develop entrepreneurial programs, bring new biotechnology companies to the region, administer research funding projects and attract biotechnology executive talent to the region. Prior to PTEI, Tom worked as an information technology consultant with the New York Stock Exchange, HJ Heinz, Colgate-Palmolive, Andrew Corporation, Weurth, Wella and many others for both Intelligroup, Inc. and Accenture.

He also currently serves on the board for the International Conference of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) as the Vice Chair for Experience. Tom is also a founding board member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of PDMA. He also serves as a class instructor on Understanding Customer Needs for the Product Strategy Network, on the Pittsburgh Technology Council Art + Technology Advisory Committee, the Young Professionals board of the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine and as a Partner of Pittsburgh Social Venture Partners.

Tom was a part of the first graduating class of the Master's of Product Development program at Carnegie Mellon University and also holds a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh.
