Biographical sketch:
Patricia Beeson is the Vice Provost for Graduate and Undergraduate Studies and Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the University of Pittsburgh. She joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh in 1983 after completing her Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Oregon. Beeson is author or coauthor of numerous scholarly articles on urban economics and public policy. Her research focuses on urban growth, labor markets, and mortgage lending. Her current work explores the impact of public policy on growth. From 2001 to 2004, she served as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in Arts and Sciences. In May 2004 she was appointed Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and in 2007 was named Vice Provost for Graduate and Undergraduate Studies. Her administrative responsibilities also include enrollment management, assessment and accreditation.
