SMART Card Distribution

Faculty

SMART Cards were delivered to departments this summer. A coordinator from each department was appointed as a designate to handle the distribution process for faculty members. Only benefits-eligible faculty located on the Pittsburgh campus are eligible to receive new SMART Cards. If you have not received your card, please visit The HUB, located in the lower level of Warner Hall, with your current, active ID Card, during regular business hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday and Thursday - 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Staff

SMART Cards not picked up during distribution week were returned to The HUB, located in the lower level of Warner Hall. Staff members may pick up their SMART Card during regular business hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday and Thursday - 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A current, active ID Card needs to be exchanged in order to receive a new SMART Card. Only benefits-eligible staff members located on the Pittsburgh campus are eligible to receive new SMART Cards.

Important: Faculty and staff who received the new SMART Card should note that beginning January 13, 2014, riders can begin “tapping” the card on the fare box reader to gain access to Port Authority Transit methods.
