This Web site provides an overview of the elements in our identity system as well as guidelines, examples and tips to help you use this system in all of your communications, whether in print or on the Web, as well as on products, uniforms, signs and so on. Every time you use the Carnegie Mellon wordmark, you help us build recognition and enhance our image among the people we need to reach.

I have asked University Advancement and the administrative vice presidents to help us implement this identity system as a foundation in our effort to build our brand among key audiences. If you have questions about this system, please contact Sue Layton, manager of the Communications Design Group at suel@andrew.cmu.edu.

Thank you for supporting Carnegie Mellon and our institutional goals in your communications and outreach. Together, we can help Carnegie Mellon raise its profile even higher in the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Jared L. Cohon
President, Carnegie Mellon University
