NOTE: Pass/No Credit policies for graduate students vary and students are advised to check with their individual colleges/departments/programs for details. Minimum passing grades in graduate courses are determined by department and college policy. Any course that a graduate student completes will be graded using this scale, subject to the below exceptions. This includes undergraduate courses taken by graduate students, and special students taking graduate courses.

Any graduate student who has taken a leave of absence and returned to Carnegie Mellon after summer 1995 will return and graduate with their eturning and future semesters under the new 4.33-point grading scale. These students will not have their past semester quality point averages recalculated at the time of their return.
