The current level of higher education costs requires Carnegie Mellon students and their families to make a substantial financial commitment. We are concerned with enabling families to protect their financial investments in a Carnegie Mellon education, especially when a student must withdraw during a semester due to a serious illness or accident.
We are therefore pleased to advise you of an optional insurance program which extends the university refund policy as published in the Carnegie Mellon Undergraduate Catalog and on The HUB Website. This program is known as the Tuition Refund Plan.
Tuition, activity, technology, media and Port Authority Transit fees, plus room and dining can be insured. Applications must be postmarked by the opening date of classes to participate. If the student withdraws from classes because of a personal physical illness or accident, the Tuition Refund Plan will return:
