Deadlines & Diploma Distribution
The following deadlines and distribution information pertain only to Pittsburgh campus students. Graduating students from non-Pittsburgh locations may have different deadlines and diploma distributions.
August
Deadlines:
- First day of July - Students may review their diploma information on Student Information Online
- Last day of summer classes - Students can no longer review their diploma information on SIO
- Two weeks after the last day of summer classes - Departments certify degrees
Distribution:
August diplomas are distributed in October by mail. Under no circumstances will a diploma be distributed if at student has a community or financial hold.
December
Deadlines:
- First day of November - Students to review their diploma information on Student Information Online
- Last day of exams - Students can no longer review their diploma information on SIO
- Two weeks after the New Year's holiday - Departments certify degrees
Distribution:
December diplomas are distributed in mid-March by mail. Under no circumstances will a diploma be distributed if a student has a community or financial hold.
May
Deadlines:
- First day of February - Students to review their diploma information on Student Information Online
- End of March - Students can no longer review their diploma information on SIO
- April 1 - Cap and gown order deadline
- Two weeks after commencement - Departments certify degrees
Distribution:
May diplomas are distributed to graduates at the department commencement ceremony. For graduates not attending the ceremony, diplomas are distributed by mail in mid-June. Under no circumstances will a diploma be distributed if a student has a community or financial hold.
