If you are interested in borrowing a Federal Stafford Loan for the Summer 2009 session(s) AND you will be enrolled on a half-time basis, you must submit the following documents:
FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Parent(s)' Federal Income Tax Return and W2 Forms - dependent students only
Student's Federal Income Tax Return
Master Promissory Note (MPN)*
Students must submit the financial aid materials applicable to EITHER the 2008-2009 or 2009-2010 academic years (i.e., 2008 tax returns are required for the 2009-2010 academic year.)
* If you completed an MPN for the 2008-2009 academic year or prior, you do not need to complete another MPN for each
subsequent academic year. If you have never completed an MPN, you may obtain one directly from your lender
of choice.
NOTE: If your parent is interested in borrowing a Federal PLUS Loan for the Summer 2009 session(s), you must complete the FAFSA if you have not already done so.
If you are taking classes outside of Carnegie Mellon, you must submit the following additional information:
Letter from your Carnegie Mellon department verifying that the units/credits will count toward your degree at Carnegie Mellon.
NOTE: Please understand that if you choose to borrow a Federal Stafford Loan for the Summer 2009 session(s), your Federal Stafford Loan eligibility may be reduced for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Deadline for submission of the required documents is:
Summer One: June 26, 2009
Summer Two: August 7, 2009
Summer All: August 7, 2009
