E-Grades Submission Information

This page is specific for Carnegie Mellon faculty, teaching instructors and department grading proxies.

The following is a list of dates and some general information you will find useful when entering your Spring 2014 Mid-Semester and Mini-3 Final Grades via the Electronic Grade Web Submission Process through Faculty Information Online (FIO).

Please keep in mind that plus and minus grades for undergraduates are only accepted during mid-semester grading periods. Plus and minus grades will not be accepted for undergraduate students during final grading periods.

**REMINDER: Your email confirmation no longer contains the actual grade(s) you submitted. It only contains the student's computer ID, last name, first name, course number and course section.

**IMPORTANT CHANGE: As of Fall 2011, the University Registrar's Office will no longer print any departmental grade reports. You can now run and print your own departmental grade reports using the Student Data Warehouse (SDW). If requested, we will copy the grade report job onto your SDW account. Then, you can customize and run the report job at the end of the grading period(s). If you wish to have the grade report job copied onto your SDW account, please send email to egrades@andrew.cmu.edu by 12 noon, Friday, March 7, 2014.

Due to the fact that students' are not final until 8 a.m., March 11, (or March 12 for Qatar) do not run your graduating grade report(s) until after 8 a.m. that morning. Since Mini-3 grades are not final until 8 a.m., March 13, do not run your Mini-3 grade reports until after 8 a.m. that morning. This will ensure you receive the most updated departmental grade reports.

2014 SPRING & MINI-3 FINAL GRADE TIMELINES (All Times Eastern Time Zone)

MID-SEMESTER GRADE TIMELINE (except TSB, Qatar & Australia campuses) (EST) 

Tuesday, March 4 Electronic grade submission process will be turned ON at 8 a.m. (website available for use).
MONDAY, MARCH 10 FINAL GRADES DUE FOR STUDENTS AT 9 p.m. 
Grade section of SIO will be turned OFF Monday only for grade processing.
Electronic grade submission process will be turned OFF at 9 p.m. (website no longer available for use).
Tuesday, March 11 Mid-semester grades and QPA's for all students will be updated in SIO and S3 by 8 a.m.



TSB and TSB/MBA MID-SEMESTER AND MINI-3 FINAL GRADE TIMELINE (EST)

Wednesday, February 26 Electronic grade submission process will be turned ON at 8 a.m. for TSB/MBA Mini-1 grades (website available for use).
MONDAY, MARCH 10 MID-SEMESTER GRADES DUE FOR TSB AND TSB/MBA STUDENTS AT 6 p.m. 
Tuesday, March 11 Final grades and QPA's for all students will be updated in SIO and S3 by 8 a.m.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12 MINI-3 FINAL GRADES DUE FOR STUDENTS AT 6 p.m.
Electronic grade submission process will be turned OFF at 6 p.m. (website no longer available for use).
Thursday, March 13 Final grades and QPA's for all students will be updated in SIO and S3 by 8 a.m.



QATAR CAMPUS TIMELINE (EST)

Friday, February 28 Electronic grade submission process will be turned ON at 8 a.m. for QATAR CAMPUS GRADING ONLY (website available for use).
TUESDAY, MARCH 11 FINAL/MID-SEMESTER GRADES DUE FOR QATAR STUDENTS AT 4 p.m. (website no longer available for use).
Wednesday, March 12 QPA's will be updated for all Qatar students in SIO and S3 by 8 a.m.


AUSTRALIA CAMPUS TIMELINE (EST)

Saturday, March 15 Electronic grade submission process will be turned ON at 8 a.m. (website available for use).
TUESDAY, MARCH 18 FINAL/MID-SEMESTER GRADES DUE FOR  AUSTRALIA STUDENTS AT 4 p.m. (website no longer available for use).
Wednesday, March 19 QPA's for all Australia students will be updated in SIO and S3 by 8 a.m.


MINI-3 FINAL GRADE TIMELINE (EST)

Tuesday, March 4 Electronic grade submission process will be turned ON at 8 a.m. (website available for use).
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12 FINAL GRADES DUE FOR  ALL STUDENTS AT 6 p.m. 
Electronic grade submission process will be turned OFF at 6 p.m. (website no longer available for use).
Thursday, March 13 Final grades and QPA's for all students will be updated in SIO and S3 by 8 a.m.




ACCESSING THE WEBSITE

The Faculty Information Online URL is: https://acis.as.cmu.edu/fio. If you forget the 's' in the address, you will be denied access.

PROXY INFORMATION

If someone other than yourself must submit your grades, they will need to be set up as a proxy through Enrollment Services. Only the instructor of record, assistant or associate department head, and the associate dean are permitted to register a proxy. Let your proxies know they must have an active Andrew account to be registered. If they do not have an active Andrew account, please have them contact Computing Services at 412-268-4357. Email egrades@andrew.cmu.edu to register your proxy. In your email message, please provide us with the proxy name, proxy Andrew user ID, course number, course section, semester, and who gives authorization.
