What is My Plaid Student & How Does it Work?
My Plaid Student is a secure website operated by Carnegie Mellon University. My Plaid Student gives authorized users access to certain information about a student.
When students complete the authorization process, they can select what categories of information their parent or other user may access. At this time, information available through My Plaid Student includes access to student account invoices and student account activity, and the ability to request enrollment verifications. Other categories of information will be available through My Plaid Student in the near future. As new features become available in My Plaid Student, the student can update the areas of information available to the user.
The student grants access to the user (typically a family member of the student) via Student Information Online (SIO). The user will get an invitation e-mail with a link to begin the My Plaid Student registration and log-in process. After registering with Tartan-ConnectID, the user can then log in to My Plaid Student to view the student's information, as authorized by the student.
Registration with Tartan-ConnectID is needed to access My Plaid Student. CMU's Tartan-ConnectID service uses certain providers (Google, AOL, Yahoo, InCommon) to offer protected access to My Plaid Student. These providers allow users to self-register for the My Plaid Student log in.
