Audit & Pass/No Credit-Academic Advisory Center (AAC) - Carnegie Mellon University

Course Audit Procedure:

Print the Course Audit Approval Form [.pdf] and fill in all requested information in the Student Information box.

Complete:

  • Course Information (course number, section and units)
  • You need to sign
  • Major Advisor must sign (or Academic Advisory Center (AAC) advisor, if undeclared)
  • Course Instructor's permisison and signature

1. Once completed this form must be turned in directly to the HUB, basement of Warner Hall, prior to the 10th day of classes.  The AAC encourages you and major department to make a copy for your own records- since this form does not require a signature from the AAC office.

2. If you are undeclared, meet with your AAC to review the form for the completed information.  The AAC will then fax the signed copy to Enrollment Services.

3. A copy is also placed in the student’s AAC file.

NOTE: The only time the AAC signs this form after the deadline is when the student turns it in with a completed petition asking to audit after the deadline (10th day of classes).  A decision is made within a day or two and copies are made and distributed to the student, the major department, and if approved, on to Enrollment Services in Warner Hall 19. 

Deadline to choose and have approved to Audit a course: 10th Day of Classes

Pass/Fail Procedure:

Print the Pass/Fail Approval Form [.pdf] and complete all Student Information:

  • Pass/Fail Information (course number, section and units)
  • Your signature
  • Major Advisor’s signature (or Academic Advisory Center (AAC) advisor, if undeclared)
