Learning and Development Seminars

Learning and Development Seminar Registration Site

We encourage all Carnegie Mellon employees to foster personal and career growth by attending at least one Learning and Development seminar per semester. Most seminars are offered at no cost to employees and typically last two to four hours. Programs are designed to provide practical tips that can be applied immediately, and cover a variety of topics:

  • Leadership Development Model - Achieving Results, Leading People, Respecting Self and Other
  • Professional Development - developing functional skills
  • Personal Development - developing life skills and achieving work/life balance
  • Research Administration - cooperative programs with Research Administrators Council
  • Oracle Systems and Procurement Training
  • Computer Education

How to Register

  1. Click on the registration link and enter your Andrew username and password to view courses.
  2. Check the box to the left of each course that you want to take. When you have finished selecting courses, click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page.
  3. If the course requires payment, enter your Oracle string and press "Click to Continue."
  4. You will receive a confirmation email with your course registration status. Also, if you return to the online registration page, your registered courses will appear in a new list at the top of the page.

Waiting List

If a workshop is full you will be placed on a waiting list. You will be notified by email if there is a cancellation or another session is added.

Cancellations

To cancel a registration, send your request to LDhelp@andrew.cmu.edu any time prior to the cancellation deadline. Classes that involve the use of an assessment, instrument or videographer require five business days notice, otherwise a cancellation fee will be assessed.
These classes will be noted on the registration website and you will be required to enter your Oracle string in order to register for them. Please note that this is not a charge to attend the class, but rather a fee that is charged to registered participants who fail to attend the session and do not cancel their registrations. The fee is intended to cover the additional expenses associated with these classes.

ADA Accommodations

If you require an accommodation to participate in a Learning and Development seminar, contact LDhelp@andrew.cmu.edu at least three weeks prior to the program, even if you have been placed on the waiting list. We may be unable to satisfy requests for accommodation unless we have three weeks' notice.

Human Resources reserves the right to cancel any workshop which does not meet the minimum participation level.

Photos may be taken at official university events for promotional or news reporting purposes.  Those photos may be included or displayed in university publications or on Web pages.

You may notify a photographer that you do not wish to have your photograph taken.  Photographers will then avoid including you in photographs to the best of their ability.  You may be asked to temporarily move so that a photo can be taken without your inclusion.

If you wish to have an image of you removed from a university Web site or publication, please notify the department responsible for the site/publication.
