Carnegie Mellon Leadership Academy

The Carnegie Mellon Leadership Academy, a joint effort of the Tepper School and Human Resources, aims to prepare our talented and dedicated staff to take on positions of senior leadership to effectively guide the university into the future.  The Leadership Academy will enhance participants' leadership, decision making, and business management capabilities through an intensive, year-long professional development program that combines classroom education and a hands-on capstone project.

The Leadership Academy is geared to staff in grades 61–65 (formerly referred to as grades 10–12) with demonstrated leadership potential, commitment to the future of Carnegie Mellon, and a strong drive to acheive greater levels of responsibility.

“As Carnegie Mellon looks to its future growth and development, both in Pittsburgh and around the world, it is important that especially talented staff be given the tools and training to prepare them for new levels of responsibility and leadership. I am very pleased to announce a brand new initiative designed to meet this need—the Carnegie Mellon Leadership Academy.”

- Carnegie Mellon President Jared Cohon
