Retiree Medical Coverage
Carnegie Mellon offers medical coverage for benefits-eligible retired employees and their spouses. (A surviving spouse/partner of a retiree who was receiving coverage may continue his/her coverage.)

Medicare HMO participants must send a completed carrier enrollment form directly to the carrier, in addition to completing the Carnegie Mellon Enrollment/Change form.

Rates are based on years of service at Carnegie Mellon. You may also participate in Carnegie Mellon's active health plans through COBRA for up to 18 months. However, participation through COBRA is not considered credible coverage for the purposes of avoiding the penalty for late enrollment in Medicare. |
