Wireless Telephone Service Discounts
Procurement Services has negotiated discounts of 10-15% for Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff from several wireless carriers.
- Verizon Wireless Discounts: Faculty and Staff are eligible for 15% off monthly access fee of $34.99 or higher on primary line.
- T-Mobile Discounts: Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff are entitled a 10% discount on any T-Mobile rate plan, waived activation fees (a $35 Value), plus discounts on the latest handsets.
- Sprint/Nextel Discounts: All Faculty and Staff are eligible for a 14% discount on Sprint/Nextel services for personal use.
- AT&T Discounts: All faculty and staff are eligible for a 15% discount. Contact AT&T and note your Carnegie Mellon affiliation.
Real Estate Services / Relocation Assistance
Whether you are moving cross-town or cross-country… Howard Hanna offers Carnegie Mellon employees and family members enhanced real estate services through the Hanna Gold Advantage Program (pdf). These services include discounts on real estate commission, mortgage and closing services and access to various retail services.
To take advantage of the Hanna Gold Advantage Program, Carnegie Mellon employees or family members must register IN ADVANCE with Howard Hanna’s Relocation & Business Development Department.

Pittsburgh Employees Activities Association Discounts
The Pittsburgh Employees Activities Association (PEAA) is a group of Pittsburgh area businesses and institutions who get together to obtain discount offers for their organizations. Through Staff Council's efforts, Carnegie Mellon and its faculty, staff and students are members of PEAA and are eligible for discounts.
Discounts to over a dozen amusement parks (including Kennywood, Sandcastle, the Pittsburgh Zoo, Idlewild, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, Hershey Park, etc.) special events (such as Pirate's games), and businesses and services (from cell phone service and security systems to car purchases and jewlery stores) are available through their order forms and flyers.
Procurement Services has negotiated "Hot Deals" with many of our Suppliers. These deals/discounts are available to Faculty and Staff of Carnegie Mellon University for personal purchases. Special programs exist with such suppliers as Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa, Sprint PCS and Verizon.
