    Get enhanced banking services at no cost. Simply sign up for a checking account with direct deposit with one of these banks and ask to be enrolled in the program.  These programs have many benefits that can save you money and make your financial management easier. Wireless Telephone Service Discounts

Procurement Services has negotiated discounts of 8-15% for Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff from several wireless carriers.

  • Verizon Wireless Discounts:  Faculty and Staff are eligible for 15% off monthly access fee on qualifying plans of $34.99 or higher and a 25% discount on accessories.
  • T-Mobile Discounts: Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff are entitled to an 8-10% discount on qualifying plans, waived activation fees, plus discounts on the latest handsets.
  • Sprint/Nextel Discounts: All Faculty and Staff are eligible for a 14% discount on Sprint/Nextel services for personal use.
  • AT&T Discounts: All faculty and staff are eligible for a 15% discount.  Contact AT&T and note your Carnegie Mellon affiliation.

The Hanna Gold Advantage Program offers a range of real estate services provided through Howard Hanna's Relocation & Business Development Department. The program includes cash rewards when purchasing or selling a home locally or nationwide, mortgage and closing services and access to services provided by Howard Hanna Real Estate Services.

Benefits available to CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY employees include the following items:

  • Cash reward equal to 10% of the Gross Commission when PURCHASING A HOME.
  • Cash reward equal to 10% of the Gross Commission when SELLING A HOME.
  • Free consultation with a Howard Hanna Mortgage Professional and a $400 credit towards closing costs on a first mortgage or refinancing when the transaction is handled by Howard Hanna Mortgage Services and Barrister’s Land Abstract Company or Barristers of Ohio.

Howard Hanna’s Relocation & Business Development Department offers a full range of various relocation related services to CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY employees. These services range from:

Pittsburgh Employees Activities Association Discounts

The Pittsburgh Employees Activities Association (PEAA) is a group of Pittsburgh area businesses and institutions who get together to obtain discount offers for their organizations. Through Staff Council's efforts, Carnegie Mellon and its faculty, staff and students are members of PEAA and are eligible for discounts.

Discounts to over a dozen amusement parks (including Kennywood, Sandcastle, the Pittsburgh Zoo, Idlewild, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, Hershey Park, etc.) special events (such as Pirate's games), and businesses and services (from cell phone service and security systems to car purchases and jewelry stores) are available through their order forms and flyers.

Procurement Services "Hot Deals"

Procurement Services has negotiated "Hot Deals" with many of our Suppliers. These deals/discounts are available to Faculty and Staff of Carnegie Mellon University for personal purchases. Special programs exist with such suppliers as Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa, Sprint PCS and Verizon.
